iPhone 5 Release Date & Rumors Roundup

The release date of the new brilliant iPhone 5 is quite a thing to debate about. The truth is - we just don't know anything for sure until Apple tells us! People expected it to be out in June, yet here we are - awaiting the end of July and still no news about anything important related to the highly anticipated iPhone 5. Are the rumors about the iPhone 5 2013 release due to the battery dispute true? Hope not! Foxconn CEO reminded us not to worry and that the new product that they are creating for Apple will be quite a charming device that will blow away the competition. No doubt that we trust in his words, but the question remains - when will we see that happen already?

We can agree that the longer Apple waits, the harder things will get and more will be expected of the new iPhone 5. Fans are furious already and while true Apple addicts (no disrespect meant, I'm one of them!) will wait for the new release before selling their old phone and upgrading, many will go over to other manufacturers. In particular I am referring to Android OS based phones such as Samsung and HTC which are honestly very brilliant.  A rumor on the release date is also that we can expect it on October 5th as a tribute to Steve Jobs which would probably be a lovely thing and a smart move considering that it is often good to make people buy things out of emotions. Yes, its not a very nice thing to do, but it is a smart thing to do for Apple!

Will iPhone be released in 2013 due to battery quality concerns?

There have been reports out of Asia that only 30% of the batteries for iPhone 5 that have been produced meet Cupertino’s quality standards. Considering that iPhone 5 is expected to have the high-performance components, how will this affect the iPhone 5’s release date? Some reports suggested that the iPhone 5 was supposed to be announced in September or even August, but now, due to these reports, it is possible that they will have to re-manufacture around 70% of the batteries. That would make the announcement in August or September quite impossible. The iPhone 5’s exact release date is not known yet, but it was expected to be released in 2012. Could it possibly, due to this problem, even be delayed until the next year?

Elegant, but not flawless...

Battery quality issues were reported by the analyst Brian White, of Topeka Capital Markets. He thinks that the possibility of iPhone 5 being released in August is highly unlikely, but that it might be possible to release iPhone 5 in September. It seems that all Аpple products have some issue that has to be dealt with. In 2010, when it was released, the iPhone 4 had problems with the infamous “antennagate”.

iPhone 5 Battery Will be Flawless

When iPhone 4S was released in 2010-2011, it had issues with its battery life. Apple tried to amend through software upgrades, but now it seems that this is bigger problem than it looked like. iPhone 4S’s battery problems were explained to be hardware-related. Apple therefore added in new and higher-performing hardware components (A5 processor) but they didn’t upgrade the battery. Now, it appears that the iPhone 4S has defective batteries.

S ince the iPhone 5 is expected to have bigger processor and larger display than iPhone 4S, LT and NFC, the necessity of the good battery is great. They cannot keep the battery technology the same as it is on the iPhone 4S. Since we do not know what is the cause of the battery problems – design or manufacturing issues, we do not know how long it will take to repair them. That means that delay in announcement could be even longer than we expect.

Last year, the release of the iPhone 4s was delayed longer than anyone expected. Why would it be impossible now? Considering the problem that they are dealing with, it is quite possible to expect the iPhone 5’s announcement in January or February in 2013. Or even later.

iPhone 5 3D Camera Rumors!

The official release date of iPhone 5 is still unknown. Nobody knows exactly what will be changed and what will stay the same. Therefore, there are many design concepts on the internet, there are many rumours about what will be new about it and there are certainly a lot of unhappy fans who are saddened by the fact that the new smartphone is running late.

One of those rumors is that this Apple’s next generation smartphone, iPhone 5, will be equipped with a 3D camera. The rumors about a 3D camera were started after the Patently Apple website discovered that Apple filed a patent application, considering photography and videography. The details were not fully disclosed but some of the main subjects in the letter gave the blog a good idea of what's going on.

iPhone 5 & the 3D Camera Features

Users would be able to scan objects and generate 3D models. A 3D camera might be able to recognize facial expressions, gestures etc. If the Apple’s latest smartphone has 3D camera, it could probably enable the facial and gesture recognition. This technology would pick up the orientation of facial muscles in order to read movements of the mouth, eyes, nose, cheeks and forehead and that way, the smartphone could make a difference between someone who is blinking and someone who is frowning. The app that uses facial recognition could be used to determine if someone likes what he is looking at (an advertisement, a product etc…) or if he is enjoying while listening to music.

The iPhone 5 might also be able to generate the three-dimensional images. The device would calculate the room’s depth and surface details in order to generate a model that you could later adjust.

New Sensor Technology for the Sixth Generation of the iPhone?

The iPhone 5’s new 3D camera would probably use lidar and radar depth detection sensors in order to generate stereo disparity maps and make three-dimensional photos that way. Due to the fact that more and more people are buying 3D television sets, the market for devices that generate 3D imagery, like the iPhone 5, is getting larger.
This rumor has spread fast and become really popular among the customers, considering the fact that the previous generations of iPhones had cameras that could only shoot 2D photos and videos with 8-megapixel camera.

Even though those rumors definitely sound amazing, you should not believe them right away. The possibility of the iPhone 5 having and not having 3D cameras are almost the same and therefore it is better not to hope too much before it is released. If it happens to be true, many customers would be greatly pleased and many developers would take advantage of this technology by making various new apps.

iPhone 5 : Brand new concept design

It was believed that the official unveiling of the California company Cupertino’s new and long expected smartphone iPhone 5 would happen at Apple’s WWDC event which happened back in June. It has passed by, but the iPhone 5 was not unveiled.

There are a lot of iPhone 5 concept designs which can be found on the Internet. This smartphone could easily be just the heir of iPhone 4, but it could also be a brand new iPhone, with totally different concept and design. Remember what a huge disappointment the iPhone 4S was? We sure hope Apple won't make that mistake again!

The Latest Design Model for the iPhone 5

One of the latest models was presented by German Apple devices website iTopNews.de, and it is quite possibly the best concept design that has been presented by now. Many believe that the new smartphone will probably include the 4 inch screen, which is an inch larger than all generations of the iPhone by now. This concept design is also wider. The iPhone 5’s screen has been made like that, because this design has five rows of icons, which is a relatively big change because all previous generations of iPhones have possessed four rows of icons.

The German Apple devices website’s concept is appealing to many customers . Most of the customers consider the height dimensions (4 inch) of the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S (the latest two versions of iPhone) to be perfect, and because of that, keeping the same height in the new iPhone 5 is admissible. The brand new German’s design is quite possible. iPhone5 could also possibly include 4G LTE capability, and the internal parts which are required for it could be placed in German’s concept design without any problems.

The back of this iPhone 5 concept is also slightly different than the previous iPhones. This model is more rounded. It is also said that the smartphone will be made with aluminium or Liquidmetal unibody. The roundness would be very good inovation, because that way the iPhone 5 would feel more natural in the hand than latest iPhone generations.

But, who can say that the iPhone 5 will look exactly like this great concept? Who can say if it will be better, or worse? We were hoping that the iPhone 5 would be unveiled at  the Apple’s annual WWDC event, but it was not. One thing is certain – it would have been an exciting moment if Apple C.E.O. Tim Cook had unveiled the iPhone 5 back then.
